Miss Fiji

Country: Fiji
Name: Alisi Rabukawaqa
Age: 24
Occupation: World Wildlife Fund - Volunteer

Bula vinaka!

I am a Bachelor of Science graduate from USP, with a major in Marine Science.

I have a passion for music thanks to the influence of my grandparents and my father who were singers and composers.  It awakened a whole world of creative writing, singing and dancing for me.

In 2010 I was invited to participate in the Ship for the World Youth Program which is a cultural exchange program hosted by Japan for young individuals from 12 countries. The experience made me realise that although we come from diverse backgrounds, we are all global citizens striving towards a better world, reaffirming my belief that young people can effect positive changes in our Global Community.

I believe that my volunteer work at World Wildlife Fund will ultimately lead me to a career in Environmental Impact Assessment Consultancy.  With a world that is rapidly developing we need to be more vigilant about policy and decision making.  Everyone needs to make informed decisions on issues that impact them.  As Pacific Islanders living off the land and

sea, we must be in the forefront of protecting our source of livelihood through sustainable use for the sake of our future generations. I also have personal goals but ultimately when it comes to attaining these goals, a quote by John Wesley summed it up well when he said:

"Do All the Good You Can
By All the Means You Can
In All the Ways You Can
In All the Places You Can
At All the Times You Can
To All the People You Can
As long as ever.You Can!"
